2022 – that’s a wrap!
MediaCast Team, December, 2022

As we wrap up 2022, MediaCast is celebrating our busiest and most successful year yet. At MediaCast, it was a whirlwind year of campaigns, coverage, friendly new faces, and of course, weekly pats with our favourite furry friends, Murray and Sia.

With the holiday season being synonymous with reminiscing, we thought we would take the opportunity to take a look back at a few of our highlights from the year.

We did some maths
This year, MediaCast experienced enormous growth in all areas – we welcomed more clients, we grew our team and overall, we experienced year on year growth of 39%!

We welcomed 34 new clients to our books and took on five new retainers including global fitness franchise Jetts Fitness, on-demand babysitting booking app Kiddo, plant-based party food manufacturers Why Meat, not-for-profit animal rescue resource Waldo’s Friends and cryptocurrency investment platform for beginners Chillur.

Our amazing team delivered a whopping 361 campaigns over the past 12 months, generating over 31,700 items of coverage with a reach of over 1.6 billion!

Not only that, but we became a leader in paid pregnancy loss and IVF leave, announcing our initiative in June. Our Managing Director, Fran was named a Founding Member of the PRCA APAC: Australia Network, we were shortlisted for two PRIA awards including Small/Boutique Agency of the Year and we celebrated our seventh birthday, Alice in Wonderland style!

With our biggest year yet in the rear-view mirror, we’re excited to keep this momentum going into 2023.

Spreading the love
This year we continued our love for our retainers, highlighting our expertise in mental health, disability awareness, ethical pet care, babysitting and food alternatives.

Showing our support for the Aussie veteran community in 2022 has been extremely rewarding, securing over 1400 items of coverage across 25 campaigns for Classics for a Cause. Highlights have included World Health Day, PTSD Awareness Day, and Men’s Health Week.

We continued our love for The Banyans this year, securing a total of 1871 media items across 35 campaigns, covering topics such as stress, orthorexia, alcohol and drug addiction and anxiety.

MediaCast worked to banish the stigma surrounding perinatal mental health this Perinatal Mental Health Week, securing a total 663 items, and reaching over 43.5 million for the wonderful Gidget Foundation Australia.

We worked with OmniPod to advocate for the government to subsidise DASH® Pods for Australians living with type 1 diabetes for easier management and treatment of the condition, securing 225 items of coverage in relation to the announcement.

A few further highlights include securing 196 items across Child Protection Week, reaching over 29.7 million throughout Tourette Syndrome Awareness Week, spreading the news that Cardinal Health Outcomes acquired smart prescription platform ScalaMed, getting Aussies more connected and educated during Get Online Week and working with Touch Biotechnology for their Rapid Antigen Combo test story.

On the telly
In 2022, our team were proud to flex their skills when it came to locking in segments across morning TV and TV news, securing over 860 items of television coverage over the past 12 months.

Highlights include securing segments with Studio 10 eight times, Weekend Sunrise three times, The Project three times, Weekend Today twice, and regular news pieces across Nine, Ten, Seven and the ABC.

In the paper
The MediaCast team also have a knack for securing articles in the nation’s largest print and digital publications, locking in over 2100 pieces in 2022.

We have been thrilled to get our clients’ voices heard nationally in publications including The Australian, The Daily Telegraph, The Canberra Times, The Courier Mail, Herald Sun and the Australian Associated Press, reaching over 470,800,000 Australians.

On the radio
As experts in all things broadcast, we delivered 117 Radio Days in 2022, and across all campaigns, secured over 28,500 pieces of radio coverage!

We look forward to smashing this number out of the park in 2023!

As Christmas falls upon us, with our Out of Offices’ set and Secret Santa gifts exchanged, it’s time to call it a year!

We’d like to thank all of our amazing clients, agencies, producers and journalists for your support and trust in us throughout the year. We hope we’ve done you proud and we can’t wait to do it all again next year.

Best wishes,
The MediaCast team
